Genshin Impact Switch 2 Build Hints at Nintendo Direct Reveal

Data miners reported finding code in a Nintendo Switch 2 build of Genshin Impact that included an option to link a Nintendo Account with a Hoyoverse account. The file surfaced ahead of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

The code reference specifically mentions Nintendo Account integration and an account-linking option. Such links typically allow players to connect a platform account to an existing developer account, which can enable access to purchases, saved progress or platform-specific services.

A Genshin Impact fan account posted that it was certain the game would appear during the Direct, writing, “we will see the game at the presentation.”

Hoyoverse has not confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 release, and Nintendo has not provided details on third-party lineups for today’s broadcast beyond the scheduled presentation. A formal announcement during the Direct would clarify release timing, technical targets and whether the Switch 2 version would support cross-save or match features available on other platforms.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action role-playing game from Hoyoverse that is available on PC, PlayStation and mobile devices. A dedicated version for Nintendo hardware has been expected by the player community.
