God of War Laufey PS5 Pre-Orders Start Tomorrow

Santa Monica Studio announced pre-orders for God of War Laufey on PlayStation 5 will open Sept. 29, 2026 at 10:00 local time. The studio confirmed the game’s release date as Feb. 16, 2027.

Players who pre-order the PS5 version will receive the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves appearance and an in-game resource pack. A Digital Deluxe Edition will be available when pre-orders go live and includes additional items not offered with the standard pre-order: the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, a second in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the official God of War Laufey digital soundtrack.

Santa Monica Studio used the pre-order announcement to unveil a new weapon for protagonist Faye, the Serpent Bow. The studio released screenshots and a combat clip showing the weapon in action and how it integrates with the game’s melee systems.

The Serpent Bow has two firing modes tied to the aim trigger. Precision mode, engaged by a full press, can impair targets and allows Faye to stack up to five arrows and release them as a volley to juggle enemies and create openings for melee follow-ups. Hip-fire, engaged by a half-press, fires a quick close-range shot that deals significant damage and is intended to help chain combos and keep enemies airborne.

The bow supports multiple shot types and uses equippable Scales that change its behavior. Players will unlock new skills for the weapon as they progress through the game. The pre-order announcement did not include details about physical editions or availability on platforms other than PlayStation 5.
