Godzilla Remaster Arrives Nov. 3, PlayStation Debut Ahead of GTA 6
A remaster of 2002’s Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee is scheduled for Nov. 3 and will make its PlayStation debut with improved visuals, online multiplayer and new campaigns.
A remaster of 2002’s Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee is scheduled for release on Nov. 3 and will appear on PlayStation for the first time. Reports say the updated version will include enhanced visuals, online multiplayer and new single-player campaigns for each playable monster.
The developer behind the original game, Pipeworks, is reported to be leading the remaster project. The original title launched in 2002 as a GameCube exclusive and was later ported to Xbox; it did not appear on PlayStation at that time.
The game combines arena-style fighting with large-scale city destruction. Players control giant monsters in one-on-one matches and in modes that reward causing maximum damage to urban environments. The remaster is described as retaining the kaiju combat core while expanding single-player content and adding online play.
The Nov. 3 date places the release slightly more than two weeks before the expected launch of another major open-world title later in November. Platform availability beyond the PlayStation debut has not been confirmed in the reports, and no official announcement on editions, pricing or a full platform list has been released.
Reported technical updates include upgraded graphics and online multiplayer support, which would allow modern matchmaking and multiplayer sessions not present in the original releases. The remaster is also reported to add separate single-player campaigns tailored to each monster.
Pipeworks’ involvement connects the project to the studio that created the original game. At the time of reporting, the developer and publisher have not issued a formal announcement providing release details or additional features.
The remaster joins other older game properties that are being updated for modern hardware. The original title is noted for its roster of monsters, destructible city stages and its mix of fighting mechanics with large-scale monster battles.
