Polyphony Digital will add five World Endurance Championship prototype cars and a Porsche 992 Turbo S safety car to Gran Turismo 7 in a free PlayStation 5 update due June 11, the studio announced at the Gran Turismo World Series event in Milan.
The new vehicles include the BMW M Hybrid V8, Ferrari 499P, Peugeot 9X8 and Porsche 963. A trailer released alongside the announcement shows the cars’ liveries and driving animations. The Porsche 992 Turbo S is included as the in-game safety car used to pace race sessions.
Players can download the update at no extra cost on PS5. The cars will be added as part of the standard update and are not being sold as paid downloadable content.
The four prototype entries reflect recent and current endurance-racing models. The Porsche 992 Turbo S will be available for use in paced sessions and can be applied by players in custom events and livestreams.
Polyphony Digital has supplied periodic content updates since Gran Turismo 7’s release, and the studio added these vehicles in response to requests from the player community.
