Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.70 Adds Le Mans Hypercars
Update 1.70 for Gran Turismo 7 adds Le Mans hypercars — Ferrari 499P, Porsche 963, BMW M Hybrid V8 and Peugeot 9X8 — plus a 911 Turbo S safety car, a new menu and five World Circuits.
Polyphony Digital released Update 1.70 for Gran Turismo 7 at staggered times (11:00pm PDT / 7:00am BST / 3:00pm JST). The free update adds a Le Mans-focused hypercar lineup — Ferrari 499P, Porsche 963, BMW M Hybrid V8 and Peugeot 9X8 — and a Porsche 911 Turbo S safety car. It also introduces a redesigned menu and five new World Circuits events, including the 24 Heures du Mans racing circuit.
The new cars appear in Brand Central and can be purchased with in-game credits or earned through game progression. Update 1.70 includes a five-question quiz that recommends a hypercar based on play style. The Ferrari 499P operates as rear-wheel drive for most of a lap and shifts to four-wheel drive above roughly 118 mph. The Porsche 963 emphasizes hybrid power and race stability. The BMW M Hybrid V8 is tuned for heavy braking and handling in dense traffic and has recorded top results in endurance competition. The Peugeot 9X8 was developed with unconventional aerodynamics and raced without a rear wing; the in-game variant includes a rear wing. The Porsche 911 Turbo S safety car is calibrated for controlled, penalty-free runs and reflects Manthey’s safety-car setup work.
Update 1.70 adds five World Circuits events to the World Map and a new menu designed to simplify access to practice, qualifying and race modes. The developer included specific practice routes and missions for each model. Examples include Suzuka and Sardegna for the Ferrari, Daytona Road Course and Road Atlanta for the Porsche, passing challenges and Watkins Glen for the BMW, and Monza testing for the Peugeot. Recommended routine for the safety car focuses on consistent laps with clean inputs at Trial Mountain free practice.
An internet connection is required to download the update. Vehicles require credits to purchase; credits can be earned in-game or bought via credit packs. New players can download the free My First GT tutorial from the PlayStation Store to learn basic controls and game systems. The release coincides with the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and brings vehicles that reflect recent developments in prototype and endurance racing.
