GTA 6 set as first $80 PS5 release; Ultimate $100

Rockstar will price Grand Theft Auto VI at $80 for the PS5 standard edition and $100 for the Ultimate Edition, and boxed copies will be supplied as download codes. Preorders begin June 25 at midnight local time.

Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will retail for $80 for the PS5 standard edition and $100 for the Ultimate Edition, making it the first PlayStation 5 title with an $80 base price and confirming a 2026 price increase for a major AAA release.

A company press release describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience and confirms the pricing and launch details. The game will not be shipped on disc; boxed copies will contain a download code. Preorders open at midnight local time on June 25. The announcement does not list a Collector’s Edition, and the press materials do not mention GTA Online.

The Ultimate Edition includes multiple vehicles and a private garage: a 1995 Grotti Cheetah, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a Crest kayak, Jason’s Vapid Ganado low-riding pickup, a Shitzu Squalo watercraft, a 1967 Vapid Dominator buggy and the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay. The package also references a Classic Car Collection project.

Weapons and character items in the Ultimate Edition include two named revolvers, Hawk and Little Morgan, engraved sidearms for protagonists Jason and Lucia, exclusive outfits and tattoos, and a capsule apparel collection tied to a fictional TV character. The edition grants access to in-game shops and services, including One-Eyed Willie’s mod shop, Electric Fang Tattoo shop, Stock 305 clothing store, Sara’s Unisex Hair Salon, Rideout Customs and PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store.

Preorder bonuses listed by Rockstar include a 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan with an accompanying garage near Ocean Beach, additional outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and weapon patterns inspired by Tommy Vercetti.

Rockstar did not provide a full launch date beyond the preorder window and did not specify whether online features or separate live-service components will be offered after release. The decision to supply boxed copies as download codes follows a wider industry shift toward digital delivery for large, high-profile game releases.
