Guns of Eschaton, Viktor Antonov’s final game, coming to PS5

Guns of Eschaton, a first-person Soulslike Western shooter, will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is the last project by art director Viktor Antonov; no date yet.

Publisher 4Divinity and developer Esschatology Entertainment announced Guns of Eschaton with a trailer and studio materials. The game is a first-person Soulslike shooter set in an apocalyptic Wild West and will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. No release date or window has been provided.

Studio materials describe the setting as a wasteland marked by dust, blood, false saints, broken histories and occult horror, a condition the team calls “The Burning.” The environment replaces traditional frontier towns with ruined settlements and supernatural threats.

Guns of Eschaton combines firearm combat with character customization. The game features more than 20 weapons modeled on 19th-century firearms, each with distinct handling and limits. Players can modify playstyles through active and passive abilities, custom bullets, talismans, armor and consumables. Three sacramental paths supply selectable powers for build variety.

Ammunition and weapon choice are presented as tactical elements. The revolver cylinder functions like a row of consumables, and players are expected to choose bullet types to match different monsters. The game supports full solo progression and cooperative play, and includes player-versus-player options that allow other players to interfere with someone’s progress.

Enemies and factions draw on real-world mythologies that the team says have been altered by the apocalypse. The game includes a hand-drawn Cherokee Codex as an in-game tool to record enemy behavior, anatomy, rituals and weaknesses; the studio frames lore as a functional resource for players rather than background detail.

Guns of Eschaton is the final title on which art director Viktor Antonov worked before his death last year. Antonov’s credits include design and art direction roles on Half-Life 2 and Dishonored, with additional work on Prey, Fallout 4 and Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Beyond the trailer and the studio’s description, no further technical details, platform editions or a launch date have been announced. The publisher has indicated more information will be released at a later time.
