Halloween: The Game launched on Sept. 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The title was developed by IllFonic and co-published by Gun Interactive. The game recreates Haddonfield in the late 1970s, with locations drawn from the original film and music inspired by the movie’s score.

The game’s primary mode is a 1v4 multiplayer match that places one player in control of Michael Myers and four players as Heroes. Michael can use stealth, darkness and a special ability called Shape Jump to pursue targets. The Heroes must search the town for items, warn residents, gather weapons and work together to find an escape.

Players can contact the police and try to recruit non-player characters to defend themselves during encounters with the killer. Matches take place in dynamic environments with locations meant to alter tactics and encounters across rounds.

The game supports online cooperative play and solo play. Players may choose to play as Michael or as one of the Heroes.

A separate single-player story mode follows the events of ‘The Night He Came Home’ from Michael’s point of view. That mode traces the killer’s movements through Haddonfield and is distinct from the 1v4 multiplayer experience.

Halloween: The Game is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The standard edition is priced at $39.99 on PlayStation and Steam. A Digital Deluxe Edition with extra content is offered.
