Honeycomb: The World Beyond arrives Sept. 8, 2026

Frozen Way Studio will release Honeycomb: The World Beyond on September 8, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Snail is listed as the publisher, and the PC edition will be sold through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The title is described as a sandbox survival game that combines exploration, research and base building.

Players take the role of Hennessy, a bioengineer sent to the exoplanet Sota7 to map ecosystems and collect biological data. The game features varied biomes, including calm forests, vibrant jungles, wide fields and a volcanic area. Objectives include gathering samples, analyzing lifeforms and securing resources to build scientific knowledge about the planet.

Core mechanics include resource gathering, crafting, laboratory work and genetic experimentation. Players can modify organisms and produce new lifeforms intended to interact with the native environment. Base construction supports research and equipment upgrades, while environmental hazards and hostile encounters create survival challenges.

Frozen Way partnered with NVIDIA to integrate advanced performance and rendering features. The game will support NVIDIA RTXDI for lighting, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with Ray Reconstruction, Multi Frame Generation and NVIDIA Reflex for reduced latency.

A trailer released with the announcement highlights the planet’s biomes and the game’s research-focused systems. In a statement, a Frozen Way representative described Honeycomb: The World Beyond as “our realization of the dream of intergalactic adventuring, landing on a strange new planet and having to figure out how it functions on an organic level. We wanted to capture both the awesome wonder of a strange, new world, as well as the creative freedom that comes from taming it your own way.”
