Honkai: Star Rail adds Fate/Stay Night characters Rin, Gilgamesh

Developer HoYoverse confirmed a crossover that will place Fate/Stay Night characters Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh into Honkai: Star Rail. Version 4.3 of the game is scheduled to go live on June 1. Gilgamesh will be available at no cost through a login reward during the crossover period and appears in the game under the Archer class.

Version 4.3 also introduces a redesigned, five-star Mortenax Blade with a new appearance and reworked combat kit to match his role in the ongoing Planarcadia storyline. The developer said additional details about the Fate pairing and gameplay mechanics will be released ahead of the summer event.

The update will deploy in two phases. The first phase includes a rerun for Yao Guang. The second phase will reintroduce Cyrene and Phainon. The phased schedule spaces the character reruns across the update window.

New endgame content will arrive with the update. A mode called Starward Mode will join the rotating high-difficulty combat events. Starward Mode requires players to field three separate teams to clear three distinct stages; each cleared stage grants 100 Stellar Jades, for a maximum of 300 Stellar Jades per update. Two additional events will be added: a spaceship-themed combat event named Pixelplane Rumble and a tower-defense style mode called Wispae Amusement Park. These events provide more opportunities to earn in-game currency and resources.

The rerun schedule, redesigned character kit, and added events give players multiple chances to obtain characters and resources tied to the new content cycle. HoYoverse plans to publish the full event schedule and further specifics on the new characters ahead of the crossover.
