Horizon Hunters Gathering beta on PS5 and Steam May 22-25

Closed beta runs May 22-25 on PS5 and Steam; you can sign up for the PlayStation Beta Program for a chance to receive an email invite to the four-day crossplay test.
Guerrilla Games will hold a closed beta for Horizon Hunters Gathering from May 22 through May 25 on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The test will allow crossplay between PS5 and Steam players and will focus on multiplayer systems ahead of the game’s planned release later this year.
Entry to the closed beta is limited. PlayStation account holders must enroll in the PlayStation Beta Program to be eligible for emailed invitations. Enrollment does not guarantee access; selected participants will receive instructions by email. Exact daily start and end times have not been published.
The beta includes five playable characters: Axle, Rem, Sun, Shadow and Ensa. Each character has distinct combat roles and weapon focuses. The test features two main activity types. Machine Incursion requires teams to fight waves of machines, power up their characters and face a large boss. Cauldron Descent sends players through a sequence of combat rooms and challenges as they descend toward a major machine at the bottom.
Participants will also be able to play a single Episode story mission to sample narrative content, and visit The Gathering, the game’s social hub where players can meet and interact. These elements are included to provide a view of combat, progression and social features in a multiplayer setting.
Guerrilla Games has not released further technical details or a full participant schedule. Invited players should check the email account linked to their PlayStation ID for access instructions and any platform-specific requirements. The developer has confirmed the full title will launch later this year.
