Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered gains PS5 Power Saver support

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered received a surprise PlayStation 5 update on July 23, 2026. Patch version 1.09 adds compatibility with the PS5 Power Saver setting. After installing the update, a small leaf icon appears on the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered game tile on the PS5 home screen. The release notes list Power Saver compatibility as the only change.

Power Saver is a system option introduced in a PS5 firmware update the previous September. It reduces the console’s energy use while games run. Players can turn the feature on in the PS5 system menu by going to Settings, then System, then Power Saving, and enabling Use Power Saver.

Support for Power Saver remains limited and is largely confined to first-party titles. Adding Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered brings a remastered third-party game into compatibility with the setting. The patch notes include no performance or visual changes tied to the update.

Some industry insiders have suggested Power Saver may prepare certain PS5 titles for a planned PlayStation handheld expected to run PS5 and PS4 games, but Sony has not confirmed any connection between the feature and unreleased hardware.

To verify the update, check the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered tile on the PS5 home screen for the leaf icon. Users need only install version 1.09 and enable Use Power Saver in system settings to activate the feature.
