Hot Wheels Infinite Rush launches on PS5 today

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush from Milestone and Mattel arrived on the PlayStation Store for PS5 today as an open-world racer; versions for other platforms are planned.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush launched on the PlayStation Store for PS5 today. Milestone developed the game in partnership with Mattel. Releases for Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, ROG XBOX Ally and ROG XBOX Ally X and for PC via Steam, the Microsoft Store and the Epic Games Store are planned for a later date.

Milestone and Mattel describe the title as an exploratory racer built around free-roaming and vehicle customization. Players can drive across a series of toy-scale islands, race on designed circuits or go off-track to find shortcuts and avoid hazards. The game centers on collecting cars, upgrading parts and designing race experiences.

At launch the game includes 150 distinct vehicles, a mix of Hot Wheels Originals and licensed real-world brands. Completing races expands a player’s garage and unlocks visual and performance upgrades. Vehicles are sorted into four perk categories — Drifters, Speeders, Titans and Versatiles — and players can group cars into “Rush Squads” to match different race types and challenges.

Maps are presented as toy-scale islands with names such as Wheelswood, Gearville, Drifty Temples and Tentacle Bay. Each island contains hidden collectibles, environmental obstacles and track-specific challenges that affect race strategy. The game also provides tools for players to create custom tracks within many of these environments.

The launch trailer shows cars with Hot Wheels branding racing and drifting through loops, cityscapes and toy-sized landscapes. The footage highlights vehicle customization, player-created tracks and off-course routes used to find alternate paths or avoid obstacles.

Milestone, a developer known for racing franchises, built the title to blend arcade-style handling with collection and progression systems. Mattel supplied the Hot Wheels brand and assets for the toy-scale presentation and vehicle roster.
