Infinity Ward Teases New Call of Duty Ahead of Xbox Showcase
Infinity Ward’s new co-heads, Mark Grigsby and Jack O’Hara, wrote they are “proud of what we’ve been building” as the studio teases a new Call of Duty ahead of the June 7 Xbox Showcase.
Infinity Ward published a short letter from new co-heads Mark Grigsby and Jack O’Hara that describes a forthcoming Call of Duty title and sets up a formal reveal expected during the June 7 Xbox Showcase. The message did not include gameplay footage or release details.
Grigsby and O’Hara outlined the studio’s aims in the letter, writing that Infinity Ward builds “visceral, immersive combat experiences” and that the next game is the result of “passion, precision, obsession, and an unrelenting drive to make the best entertainment in the industry.” The letter also used the phrases “Determined. Bold. Relentless.” and “we’re proud of what we’ve been building and excited to finally start sharing it with you.”
The Xbox Showcase on June 7 is expected to provide concrete details such as platforms, gameplay, and a release window. Call of Duty releases traditionally target the November holiday season, and this year’s timing will put the franchise alongside other major releases scheduled for the same period, including Grand Theft Auto 6.
Market data from last year showed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was outsold by Battlefield 6, and sales performance this year will be closely observed across platforms. Call of Duty titles continue to have significant audiences, and publishers monitor competing release schedules when planning marketing and launch timing.
Both studio leaders are long-time Infinity Ward veterans. Grigsby previously left for Respawn Entertainment in 2010 and returned two years later. The letter framed the new project as the start of a new chapter for the studio and part of a planned rollout ahead of the public reveal.
The letter avoided specifics about setting, modes, or multiplayer features. Observers said they will watch for trailers, marketing materials, and developer commentary in the coming weeks to learn how Infinity Ward plans to position the new title in the first-person shooter market.
