Inti Creates Announces Gunvolt iX 3, Trilogy Enhanced on Switch 2
Inti Creates announced Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 3 for Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam in 2027, and Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced – Switch 2 Edition in 2026.
Inti Creates unveiled two new entries in its Gunvolt franchise for Nintendo’s next console and PC. Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 3 is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam in 2027. Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is slated for 2026.
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 3 returns protagonist Copen to his home world to face otherworldly invaders called iX Bearers. The game retains side-scrolling 2D action and introduces a new weapon, the twin energy swords named Divide Edge. Inti Creates described a new Code Customizer system that lets players modify Copen’s strengths and abilities by adjusting in-game systems.
Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced compiles the three mainline titles released in 2014, 2016 and 2022 and includes previously released downloadable content. The Switch 2 Edition is built for higher-resolution displays and increased frame rates supported by Nintendo’s next console.
The Trilogy Enhanced release adds a new story mode titled Azure Striker Gunvolt GX. In GX players control a tag-team pairing of Gunvolt and Copen and gain access to new weapons and abilities tied to the dual-hero setup. The edition introduces an Inspiration system that rewards timely switching between the two characters with gameplay effects and score bonuses.
Both projects have release years but no specific dates or pricing information. Inti Creates presented the announcements with gameplay and feature notes but did not provide exact launch dates or retail details.
The Gunvolt series began in 2014 and has combined fast-paced platforming and action across its mainline and spinoff entries. These releases continue that focus while adding new mechanics and character options.
