PikPok announced that Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days will launch on PlayStation 5 in March 2027. The window covers simultaneous releases for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, and the game will leave Steam early access at the same time.
The title entered Steam early access in 2025 and holds a “Very Positive” user rating based on more than 3,000 reviews.
Since launch, PikPok has issued 13 major content updates. Those updates introduced new zombie types, additional starting and recruitable characters, new Escape Plans, revised combat and systems, new survivor missions and relationship mechanics, new weapons and districts, difficulty and content-control settings, and save slot support.
The developer’s overview reads: “Texas, 1980. Walton City has fallen to a zombie outbreak. Lead a band of desperate survivors from refuge to refuge by scavenging, crafting, and fighting in a relentless struggle for survival. Plan wisely, stick together, and — above all — keep moving if you want to make it out alive.”
PikPok released a new trailer with the release window announcement, indicating the game will receive further updates in the run-up to its full release.
PikPok developed and is publishing the title.
