inZOI PS5 Release Pushed to First Half of 2027

inZOI Studio says its South Korean life-simulation on PS5 will launch in the first half of 2027 to allow console optimization and a DualSense redesign.

inZOI Studio announced the PlayStation 5 release of its life-simulation game inZOI has been delayed to the first half of 2027. The developer posted the update on the game’s Steam page and said the PS5 launch, originally expected this year, requires more work to meet console expectations.

The studio cited the need to optimize performance for fixed console hardware, redesign controls around the DualSense controller instead of keyboard and mouse, and adjust presentation for gameplay on larger TV screens. It highlighted frame rate, loading performance and control mapping as specific areas receiving additional development time.

“Console players are generally accustomed to receiving a more complete and polished experience from the very beginning, without major setbacks during the process,” the studio wrote on the Steam post. The developer said studying console player behavior and platform requirements drove the decision to extend the schedule.

The extra time will be used to scale the game’s large, autonomous city systems to console specifications and to rework inputs for the DualSense. The studio noted changes will account for gameplay viewed from a greater distance on TVs compared with monitors and laptops.

inZOI is a South Korean life-simulation title focused on community and open-ended character behavior. The game centers on characters called Zois that follow routines, form relationships and generate events such as rumors, trends and disease. Players can customize Zois with more than 250 options covering hair, skin, physique, outfits, accessories and nail art, and construct spaces using a range of architectural objects.

A PlayStation Store page for inZOI is available for wishlisting. The developer has not confirmed a price, whether the game will support PS5 Pro hardware, or any changes to the PC version. Beyond the first-half-2027 window, no specific release date was provided.
