IO Interactive Teases Free DLC for 007 First Light
IO Interactive teased a free DLC for 007 First Light and asked players to check official channels on October 1, 2026. The studio did not disclose content or platforms.
IO Interactive posted a short teaser on the official 007 First Light social accounts saying new content is “just around the bend” and directing fans to official channels on October 1, 2026. The studio did not disclose timing, platforms or the DLC’s content.
IO Interactive has a history of post-launch support, updating Hitman: World of Assassination with new missions and content years after that title’s release.
007 First Light launched earlier this year and sold more than 4 million units within three months. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. On PC, the developer added an advanced path-tracing option to improve lighting and visuals.
The game presents an original, modern-day origin story for James Bond. The campaign follows Bond after a failed mission as a Royal Navy officer; he is recruited into MI6 as a candidate for a revised 00 program under mentor John Greenway and investigates a conspiracy after losing a close friend. Levels include Iceland, London, Malta, Slovakia and Vietnam, and the game features gadgets used in espionage missions.
Patrick Gibson leads the cast as James Bond. The game features performances by Lenny Kravitz, Priyanga Burford, Lennie James, Kiera Lester and Gemma Chan. IO Interactive has not announced a sequel.
The teaser did not specify whether the free DLC will add a new single-player mission, multiplayer features or paid cosmetic items. The full reveal will appear on IO Interactive’s official channels on October 1, 2026.
