Jeff Grubb: Nintendo planning Direct by mid-June

Jeff Grubb, a video game journalist and podcaster, reported he has heard Nintendo will hold a standalone Nintendo Direct by mid-June to outline upcoming releases.

Grubb’s report places the potential presentation after early-June industry events. Summer Game Fest is scheduled to begin in early June, and Microsoft has confirmed a showcase in that period.

According to Grubb, Nintendo would stage its own Direct rather than participate in the Summer Game Fest broadcast, using its channel to present curated announcements.

He identified mid-June as the likely window but did not provide a specific date or a list of titles expected to appear.

Nintendo traditionally uses June Directs to update its release calendar and announce new projects. Those presentations are typically prerecorded streams focused on Nintendo-published games, hardware updates and release dates.

Nintendo has not confirmed Grubb’s report.

“I’ve been hearing that Nintendo will be holding a Nintendo Direct presentation by mid-June,” Grubb wrote, attributing the information to industry sources.

Industry schedules show multiple showcases in the first half of June; if confirmed, Grubb’s report would place Nintendo’s presentation within that calendar.
