Join Us launches March 2027 on Xbox, Game Pass

Wolf Haus Games’ Join Us, an open-world cult sandbox with permadeath, follower body-swap, base building and combat, launches March 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud and Game Pass.

Wolf Haus Games will release Join Us in March 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud and as part of Xbox Game Pass. The title supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to use a single purchase across console and PC at no extra cost.

Join Us places players in control of a custom cult leader who builds and manages a compound, recruits followers and expands influence across a rural county. The game was developed by a roughly 10-person team at Wolf Haus Games and combines sandbox, survival and social mechanics.

A defining gameplay element is permadeath linked to a follower body-swap system. When the current player character dies, control transfers to any surviving cult member. Players may switch into nearby followers at will, including during combat. Long-distance swaps function like a form of fast travel by re-entering the world through other bodies. Recruiting additional followers increases available respawn options and extends the player presence on the map.

Combat features a wide array of weapons, from pistols and serrated machetes to machine guns, grenade launchers, flamethrowers and chainsaws. Vehicles serve for travel and as tools in attacks. The demo included multiple in-game radio stations that players can change while driving.

Base construction and resource systems let players assign follower tasks such as farming, animal care and compound maintenance. Compounds can expand operations to support raids and indoctrination activity. The studio has listed additional features including animal domestication and the presence of aliens as elements planned for the game.

Recruitment and influence follow several mechanics. Players can hand out flyers, distribute leader autographs or apply intimidation to convert residents into followers. New converts adopt the cult uniform and can travel back to the compound in vehicles, increasing follower numbers and providing backup. Growing influence unlocks extra spawn points and expands the cults operational capacity.

Encounters with local law enforcement form part of the game’s risk-reward loop. Large-scale assaults and public violence trigger police responses that can include helicopters and heavy gunfire. Such responses can end a run if the player character is overwhelmed, prompting players to switch bodies, reinforce their cult or relocate the compound.

A playable demo shown at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 focused on combat and convoy-style assaults while demonstrating base-building, farming and social mechanics used to recruit and control members. The demo included examples of looting weapon caches, coordinating follower convoys in vehicles and escalating police attention after high-profile violence.

Join Us will be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass and playable across console and PC with Xbox Play Anywhere when it launches in March 2027.
