Jonathan Blow’s Order of the Sinking Star Heads to Switch 2
Publisher Arc Games confirmed Jonathan Blow’s puzzle game Order of the Sinking Star will launch on Nintendo’s Switch 2 later this year after its initial PC reveal.
Arc Games confirmed that Order of the Sinking Star will arrive on Nintendo’s Switch 2 later this year. The game was first shown at The Game Awards 2025 and had previously been announced for PC.
Arc Games said the title includes more than 1,000 puzzles and dozens of game mechanics that can interact as four distinct game worlds merge. The developer describes the project as a “living puzzle” where rules and interactions change when worlds intersect. The game supports exploration rather than a strict linear path, and players can approach puzzles at their own pace.
Multiple playable characters appear in the story, including a queen, a thief, a warrior, a wizard and a talking boat. Players collect in-game notes and encounter events that reveal the larger mystery of the Order of the Sinking Star as characters meet and worlds collide.
Blow, who directed Braid and The Witness, commented on the Switch 2 hardware: “Switch 2’s portability is really nice here; you can just pick it up and play it in short bursts or really dive in for a long time.”
The Switch 2 release will be Arc Games’ first on the platform. Arc Games chief executive Yoon Im noted the company had been looking forward to bringing a game to the system. The publisher has not provided a specific release date or pricing details and said it will share more information ahead of the launch later this year.
