Kadokawa Confirms Elden Ring and Duskbloods for Switch 2

Kadokawa told investors Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods remain on track for a worldwide Nintendo Switch 2 release in 2026.

Kadokawa told investors that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods are on track for a worldwide release on Nintendo’s Switch 2 in 2026. The company did not provide a specific launch window inside the year.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is an adaptation of FromSoftware’s 2022 title for the Switch 2. Early hands-on previews identified performance and compatibility problems in initial builds; Kadokawa indicated development teams are addressing those issues and testing updates.

The Duskbloods was revealed as a Switch 2 exclusive during Nintendo’s Switch 2 presentation. FromSoftware described the project as more multiplayer-focused than many of its previous games. Kadokawa’s investor note did not add further detail about gameplay, story or modes.

FromSoftware has previously stated it is not abandoning single-player projects. The studio’s current Switch 2 lineup includes the single-player-focused Tarnished Edition alongside the multiplayer-focused Duskbloods.

Neither Kadokawa nor FromSoftware released sales projections, pricing information or a firm release date beyond the 2026 calendar year.

Both titles were shown during Nintendo’s promotional event for the Switch 2 as examples of early third-party support. Kadokawa’s update follows that event and indicates porting and development work for the new hardware is continuing.

FromSoftware is the studio behind Dark Souls, Bloodborne and the original Elden Ring. Kadokawa maintains publishing relationships for console releases. Nintendo’s Switch 2 is the company’s next-generation handheld-console hybrid and publishers are preparing titles for its launch window and the subsequent year.
