Killzone Reportedly Returning After More Than a Decade

Guerrilla Games is reportedly working with an outside studio, possibly People Can Fly, on a Killzone remaster or remake — the series’ first mainline project since 2013.

A report says Guerrilla Games has engaged an outside studio, possibly People Can Fly, to develop a remaster or remake of Killzone. If confirmed, the project would be the franchise’s first mainline release since Killzone: Shadow Fall in 2013.

People Can Fly entered a formal partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2025 to develop a title codenamed Project Delta. Observers have tied Project Delta to an action or shooter property because of People Can Fly’s previous work on fast-paced shooters.

Killzone debuted on the PlayStation 2 in 2004. Killzone: Shadow Fall launched as a PlayStation 4 title in 2013 and received mixed reviews and modest commercial results. After that release, Guerrilla shifted development focus to Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequels, leaving Killzone inactive.

Neither Guerrilla nor Sony has confirmed a Killzone remaster or remake, and the external studio involved has not been officially named. The scope of the project — whether a remaster, a full remake, or a new reimagining — has not been disclosed.

No release date, platform details beyond PlayStation, or launch plans have been announced. The industry will wait for official statements from Sony or Guerrilla for further information.
