Kingdom Hearts Cloud Demos Removed From Switch eShop

Demos for Kingdom Hearts cloud versions were removed from the Nintendo Switch eShop in the US and Japan, prompting speculation they could be replaced by native Switch ports.

Demos for the cloud versions of Kingdom Hearts were removed from the Nintendo Switch eShop in the United States and Japan. The removals were discovered recently; neither the publisher nor Nintendo has explained why the demos were taken down.

The affected listings were the cloud editions sold under the KINGDOM HEARTS INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE label. Those collections bundle multiple entries in the series, from the original Kingdom Hearts through Kingdom Hearts III and the Re Mind DLC, and were offered on the eShop as cloud-only releases.

Cloud releases stream gameplay to the console and require an active internet connection rather than local installation. Nintendo’s product descriptions for the collections noted that the titles were playable only while connected to the internet.

Users on social platforms suggested the demo removals could be related to plans for native, locally running versions for next-generation Nintendo hardware often called the Switch 2. Other users pointed out that store removals can result from different causes, such as licensing changes, technical updates or temporary storefront maintenance.

Square Enix and Nintendo have not issued public statements about the demo removals or any intent to release native Switch versions of the Kingdom Hearts collections. Converting cloud editions into native releases would require development work and new or updated eShop listings.

Fans and industry watchers are monitoring official Nintendo and Square Enix channels for confirmation. Until either company provides details, the reason for the demos’ removal and any plans for native Switch ports remain unconfirmed.
