Kirby Air Riders adds Sword Kirby, Noir Dedede amiibo
Update v1.3.3 for Kirby Air Riders on Switch 2 adds amiibo support for Sword Kirby & Dragoon and Noir Dedede & Hydra, and warns some older replays may not be compatible.
Nintendo released update version 1.3.3 for Kirby Air Riders on Switch 2 on June 2, 2026. The patch adds amiibo support for the Sword Kirby & Dragoon and Noir Dedede & Hydra figures.
Nintendo’s support notes state: “Your Main Menu Figure can be updated to match the rider & air ride machine combo of your figure. These can also be used to play with a figure player (FP) in certain modes, matching the combination you scanned, which can be trained through gameplay. Unique rewards are unlocked the first time you scan these amiibo.”
When a compatible amiibo is scanned, the game can update a player’s Main Menu Figure to reflect the rider and air-ride machine combo on the figure. The scanned combination can be used for a figure player in certain modes and can be trained through play. Nintendo’s notes say unique rewards are granted the first time each amiibo is scanned.
The update includes replay compatibility warnings. Version 1.3.3 may not be compatible with replays created in versions 1.3.2 through 1.3.0, and it is not compatible with replays from version 1.2.0 and earlier.
Players who want to retain replay footage are advised to convert those files to video before installing the update by selecting Record on the playback-settings screen within Cached Data and Data Replay. Nintendo notes a microSD Express card is required to use the in-game recording function.
The Sword Kirby and Noir Dedede amiibo were announced for Kirby Air Riders in March 2026. Nintendo has not provided a release date for the physical figures.
Version 1.3.3 follows a March update that addressed multiple bug fixes. The latest patch focuses on amiibo compatibility and the scanning and figure-player training features tied to the newly supported figures.
Players preparing to download the update should back up important replay data and check they have the required microSD Express hardware if they plan to convert replays to video.
