Konami adds Panic Bomber W to PS5 Super Bomberman Collection

Konami has added the 1995 puzzle game Panic Bomber W to the Super Bomberman Collection on PlayStation 5 via a free update. The update also imports Panic Bomber W’s original soundtrack into the collection’s Bomb Radio, making the tracks available during matches and in the collection’s music player.

Panic Bomber W was first released in 1995. The game is a competitive puzzle title built around chain reactions, bomb-based attacks and a Big Bomb mechanic. It supports up to four players and offers a multiplayer style that differs from the classic Bomberman grid battles by focusing on combos and reaction-based strategy.

The Panic Bomber W addition brings the PlayStation 5 version into line with the collection’s releases on Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Konami described the update as part of ongoing support for the Super Bomberman Collection on modern platforms.

The Super Bomberman Collection bundles eight titles: Super Bomberman 1 through 5 plus the original Bomberman 1 and II, with Panic Bomber W as the eighth entry. Each title includes campaign content with characters such as Mr. Karat, Dr. Mukk, the Bomber Quintet, Professor Bugler, Bomber Kings and Terrorin, and campaign progress is tied to solving puzzles and defeating boss armies.

Modern conveniences added to the collection include Save/Load Anytime and Rewind features. A Boss Rush mode is available for some entries, but Panic Bomber W is not included in Boss Rush. The collection also contains a gallery with more than 200 pieces of artwork and development material.

On the PlayStation Store the Super Bomberman Collection is listed at $19.99 and shows a user rating average of 4.83 out of 5 stars. The free update makes Panic Bomber W available immediately to current owners on PlayStation 5.
