Konami announces Rhapsody in Scarlet for PS5, Xbox, PC

Konami announced Rhapsody in Scarlet, a magick-themed action-adventure currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. The company has not provided a release date or launch window.

The game follows Ellie Myers, a magus and jazz enthusiast living in 1920s New York. The official description reads that the title is set “in the jazz-filled streets of 1920s New York” and centers on a magus who faces a threat that could shake the world. Ellie is transported by a mysterious man to a place called a sanctuary and uncovers a conspiracy tied to organized crime.

Ellie meets Ilya Jones, leader of the Seekers, an elite group of magi. The pair clash at first due to differing personalities and later form an alliance while investigating threats hidden across the city.

Konami described combat as a central gameplay element. Players will fight alongside powerful beasts and combine close-range and long-range attacks with magick-fueled combo chains. The game will let players stun enemies and mix an expanding set of abilities tied to the magus and beast bond.

The project is being developed specifically for current-generation consoles and PC. Konami confirmed platforms for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows but has not disclosed further technical or scheduling details.

Voice casting information lists Cherami Leigh as the English voice of Ellie Myers and Akari Kitou as the Japanese voice. Ilya Jones is listed as voiced by Hannah Grace in English and Saori Oonishi in Japanese. No additional cast or development credits have been published.
