Korean RPG DragonSword: Awakening coming to PlayStation

Developer Hound13 said DragonSword: Awakening, which sold more than 200,000 PC copies in its first week, is in development for PlayStation with a Switch version planned; no dates were given.

Hound13 announced PlayStation and Nintendo Switch versions of DragonSword: Awakening following the game’s PC launch last week. The studio did not provide release dates or specify which PlayStation generation the port will target.

Hound13 reported the PC release sold more than 200,000 copies in its first week.

DragonSword: Awakening is set on the Continent of Orbis. Players recruit companions and take part in tag-team battles to confront a Dragon that returned after 60 years. The player follows a boy named Lute and his mercenary band as they search for the legendary Heroes of old.

The game includes 19 playable heroes, each with distinct abilities. Those abilities can chain together through special Status Ailments to create linked effects and extended combos in combat.

The game’s official description reads: “Long ago, a Dragon brought the continent to the brink of destruction, and six Heroes rose to save it. Now, 60 years later, a Dragon has appeared once more on the peaceful Continent of Orbis. You will take on a critical quest to find the Heroes of old and confront the returning Dragon’s threat. Tracing the footsteps of the legendary Heroes across the continent, you will uncover their hidden secrets. Until the boy Lute and his mercenary band rise to become the Heroes who will save the continent… Can they truly become the Dragon Sword, saviors of the continent, or will fate lead them down a different path?”

Hound13 has not disclosed a release window, platform-specific features, or whether the PlayStation and Switch editions will arrive simultaneously. The developer has provided limited public details about the console builds.
