Last Chance: Buy Horizon Chase Turbo on Switch by June 1
Horizon Chase Turbo will be removed from the Nintendo Switch eShop on June 1; new digital purchases end that day while existing owners can still re-download the game.
Horizon Chase Turbo will be removed from the Nintendo Switch eShop on June 1, and new digital purchases will no longer be available after that date. Both the standard and Turbo editions are listed for removal and will remain purchasable on the storefront until the deadline.
The removal was announced by developer Aquiris Games in March, with the company setting June 1 as the final day for new sales. Aquiris confirmed that players who already own the game will be able to re-download it from their purchase history after it leaves the eShop.
At the time of reporting, Horizon Chase Turbo is priced at £17.99 / $19.99 on the Switch eShop. The sequel, Horizon Chase 2, is not affected and remains available for purchase on the storefront.
Aquiris, a Brazilian studio, was acquired by Epic Games in 2023. The notice about the eShop removal was posted the same day Epic disclosed a round of layoffs affecting more than 1,000 employees. Neither Aquiris nor Epic provided an explanation tying the delisting to the corporate changes.
A 2018 review described Horizon Chase Turbo as “an absolute must-have for anyone even remotely interested in the genre,” and noted its arcade-style racing and retro presentation. The title has been available digitally on Switch since release and is noted for its accessible gameplay and soundtrack.
Players who want to add Horizon Chase Turbo to their Switch library need to purchase it before June 1. After that date, new customers will no longer be able to buy the game on the Nintendo eShop, while owners will retain the ability to re-download purchased copies.
