Leak: Rayman Legends Retold Is 2.5D With Some 3D

A forum leak claims the upcoming Rayman Legends remake, titled Rayman Legends Retold, will use a 2.5D presentation with some three-dimensional sections. The claim follows circulation of a remake logo on social media ahead of a scheduled reveal next week.

Insider NateDrake posted on the ResetEra forums that the project mixes the original side-scrolling gameplay with select 3D segments. The logo was shared online before the forum post and has been linked to a known Ubisoft leaker.

The remake is expected to be revealed next week, potentially during Summer Game Fest or a Ubisoft showcase. No official announcement has confirmed the timing, platforms or release window.

The Retold subtitle has been interpreted by observers as a hint at visual and level-design changes. A 2.5D presentation typically keeps player movement on a two-dimensional plane while adding depth through three-dimensional environments or set pieces in certain areas.

Rayman Legends was first released as a 2D platformer and received praise for its level design and art. Some community members have questioned whether a full remake is warranted so soon after the original, while others are awaiting the official announcement to learn what will change.
