Leaked Image Suggests Modern Warfare 4; Xbox Reveal June 7

A partially obscured image posted on X by user billbil_kun appears to show the title Modern Warfare 4 for the 2026 Call of Duty release.

The post circulated online but has not been confirmed by Activision or Microsoft. Xbox has scheduled a showcase for June 7, where new Call of Duty projects have been announced previously.

Developer Infinity Ward posted a brief teaser that described the upcoming game as “determined, bold, relentless.” The leaked image contains no release date, platform list or gameplay footage.

The image focuses on the title treatment rather than additional details, which suggests an announcement may be timed to the Xbox showcase rather than a separate reveal. Activision, Microsoft and Infinity Ward have not provided further information.

Modern Warfare is a recurring label in the Call of Duty franchise. It was used for the original 2007 game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and for a reboot series that began in 2019. Numbering and naming have varied across the franchise’s history.

If Microsoft and Activision confirm the title at the June 7 event, official materials may include a trailer, release window, platform information and developer credits. Until then, the Modern Warfare 4 name remains unconfirmed.
