Leaker Claims Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Remakes Coming to Switch 2

Leaker NateTheHate posted on social media that remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 are in development for Nintendo’s Switch 2 and are expected to arrive on the platform soon. The post did not include release dates.

The account described the projects as native Switch 2 entries under active development rather than straightforward ports. No technical details or information on whether the games would be direct ports of the existing remakes or further remasters were provided.

The post included personal comments about the series and physical editions. The author wrote that Resident Evil 4 on GameCube was the title that drew them into the series, and that they had enjoyed the Resident Evil 2 remake on PlayStation 4 and on the Steam Deck. The post read in part: “I would definitely expect these titles… I would love a physical collectors edition of res 4 remake for switch 2, but no doubt it’ll be a key card in which case il buy it for half the price on ebay after a couple months.”

The author also referenced current resale prices, noting Requiem key cards are selling on secondary markets for less than half their original eShop price, and advised caution about paying full digital prices upfront.

Capcom has not confirmed the report. The company and Nintendo have not commented on the claims, and no release windows or hardware specifications for Switch 2 versions were mentioned in the post.

Capcom previously released modern remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, and a remake of Resident Evil 4 has reached current consoles and PC. Those releases created a market for both digital sales and physical collector editions.
