LEGO Batman: Legacy launches May 22; Deluxe gets early access
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight arrives May 22 on Xbox Series X|S. Deluxe Edition pre-orders get 72-hour early access beginning May 19.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will launch May 22, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S. Players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition receive 72-hour early access beginning May 19.
Developer TT Games and publisher Warner Bros. Games describe the title as an open-world action-adventure with an original Batman story that draws on decades of films, television, comics and games.
The campaign opens with a young Bruce Wayne training with the League of Shadows, then follows his return to Gotham as he becomes Batman, recruits a Bat-Family and confronts villains including the Joker, the Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy and Bane.
The base game includes seven playable characters-Batman, Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman and Talia al Ghul-each with specific gadgets and abilities. The release features more than 100 suits, over 20 vehicles including the Tumbler, and more than 250 Batcave props and trophies. The game world changes to reflect different eras as players progress through the story.
The Deluxe Edition, priced at $89.99, grants the 72-hour early access window and adds the Legacy Collection at launch. The Legacy Collection contains three themed packs: Arkham Trilogy Pack, Batman Beyond Pack and Party Music Pack. Each pack includes seven suits, one Batmobile and a set of Batcave customization props. The Deluxe Edition also bundles a Mayhem Collection scheduled for September 2026; that package adds a Joker-and-Harley Quinn story mission, a Mayhem Mode and a villain-themed Sinister Pack. The Mayhem Collection will be delivered to Deluxe Edition buyers when it releases and requires the full base game.
All pre-orders include the Dark Knight Returns Batsuit inspired by the comic series. The Standard Edition becomes available to all players on May 22.
TT Games built a combat system centered on a focus meter that fills through combat and traversal and unlocks special takedowns when full. Animations range from cinematic moves to humorous attacks, including a Bat-themed frying pan. Players can customize the Batcave and collect items around Gotham to display as trophies.
The game will initially be available on Xbox Series X|S. Deluxe Edition pre-orders are open now.
