LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches on PS5 May 22
Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will arrive on PS5 on May 22, a week earlier than planned, after positive previews and a new launch trailer.
Traveller’s Tales advanced the release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight to May 22, 2026, from its original May 29 date. The developer announced the change after positive preview coverage and the release of a launch trailer.
The game will be available in retail and on the PlayStation Store on May 22. The launch trailer accompanied the date revision, and early previews noted the game’s graphical quality on PS5, its open-world design, and a mix of action and puzzle-solving.
Legacy of the Dark Knight is an open-world action-adventure built around an origin story for Bruce Wayne, showing his training with the League of Shadows and his development into Batman. Players will form an allied group that includes Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl while confronting villains such as The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy and Bane.
The developer describes the gameplay as combining exploration with LEGO-style combat and puzzle elements. The title supports single-player and cooperative play.
Preorders are available on the PlayStation Store. The standard edition is priced at $69.99 and the deluxe edition at $89.99. Preordering grants the bonus “The Dark Knight Returns” Batsuit. The deluxe edition includes three-day early access, the Arkham Trilogy Pack, the Batman Beyond Pack, the Party Music Pack and the Mayhem Collection post-launch DLC, which will add a new story mission, a new mode and additional content.
Players who want early access or the bonus suit can preorder the deluxe or standard editions on the PlayStation Store ahead of the May 22 release.
