LEGO Batman: Legacy gets positive reviews; Switch 2 undated

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight released this month on PS5, Xbox and PC. The PS5 edition holds an 84 on Metacritic. Review scores for the current-generation and PC versions range from about 7/10 to 10/10.

TT Games developed the title and Warner Bros. Games published it. Reviewers highlighted the game’s open-world Gotham, noting hundreds of collectibles and multiple side activities. The game’s levels combine puzzles, character powers and references to Batman films and comics.

Combat was described as more sophisticated than in previous LEGO entries and as a simplified continuation of mechanics used in earlier Batman action games. Several reviews pointed to repetitive encounter design and an overall easier difficulty compared with other recent Batman releases. Opinions on the story varied, with some calling it “charming and effective” while others found the humor intermittent.

Some reviewers described the game as “impossible to put down” and said it left them smiling, while others argued it does not always live up to the legacy it references. Review coverage also noted the title’s large amount of content across its open world and mission types.

Warner Bros. Games and TT Games confirmed a Switch 2 port is in development but provided no release window, technical specifications or reason for the lack of a date. No further updates on the Switch 2 version have been issued.
