LEGO Batman: Series X 4K/60fps, Series S 720p/30fps
Launch testing shows LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight reaches up to 4K/60fps on Xbox Series X with dynamic resolution; Xbox Series S runs at native 720p and 30fps.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight reached full release on May 22. Testing released with the launch shows the Xbox Series X offers two visual presets, labeled Fidelity and Performance, both targeting a 4K output while using dynamic resolution scaling. The Fidelity preset targets 30 frames per second and prioritizes visual detail; the Performance preset targets 60 frames per second for smoother motion. Recorded clips from the tested build showed steady frame pacing with no obvious drops during the sampled segments.
On Xbox Series S, the tested build provides a single mode. That version reportedly outputs at 1080p but renders natively at 720p and runs at a steady 30fps. The Series S build does not include a 60fps option in the version examined. Visuals on the Series S presentation remain clear for the platform, while Series X owners can choose between higher frame rate or higher-resolution presets.
Dynamic resolution scaling, used on both console versions, adjusts the internal render resolution in real time to maintain the target frame rate when scenes become more demanding. The technique reduces pixel count in complex scenes so the game can hold 30fps or 60fps targets.
The game is available to buy on the Xbox Store for £59.99 / $69.99 and is playable by all buyers as of the full release, not limited to Deluxe Edition purchasers.
At launch, Series X players can pick either the Fidelity or Performance preset; Series S players should expect a single, 30fps presentation in the tested build.
