LEGO Poke Ball U.S. Release Delayed From Aug. 1

The 239-piece LEGO Poke Ball set, priced at $260 and due in U.S. stores on Aug. 1, has been delayed for production reasons. LEGO has not announced a new U.S. release date.

The U.S. release of the 239-piece LEGO Poke Ball set, priced at $260 and scheduled for Aug. 1, has been postponed. LEGO attributed the change to production reasons and has not provided a revised U.S. launch date.

The Poke Ball model is designed to open and reveal a staged interior display and was listed to include a small Pokémon figure inside the ball. A circulated image shows an Eevee figure that appears to be part of the set.

The set is part of a collaboration between LEGO and The Pokémon Company that includes additional builds. The announced lineup features large models of Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise, and separate character representations of Pikachu and Eevee.

Initial announcements included pricing and U.S. availability details for those other sets. To date, the production delay has been reported only for the Poke Ball’s U.S. launch.

Separately, Bandai Namco plans a premium metal series called Pokémon Poke Ball Collection ULTRA for next year. That series will offer six designs across 10 collectible metal balls and is a distinct product line from the LEGO sets.

LEGO has not released further information about the production issues. Retailers and customers awaiting the Aug. 1 release should monitor official updates from LEGO and The Pokémon Company for a new U.S. availability date.
