LEGO launches 12 Pokémon Smart Play sets on Aug. 1, 2026
LEGO will release 12 Pokémon Smart Play sets on Aug. 1, 2026. Kits use a new Smart Brick, range from 88 to 831 pieces, and Charizard and Pikachu sets include the Smart Brick.
LEGO revealed a new line of 12 Pokémon Smart Play sets that will be available on Aug. 1, 2026. The sets introduce a Smart Brick that adds reactive sounds, vibration and simple emotive responses when built figures are moved or placed near one another.
The range is split into two classifications. All-in-One sets include the Smart Brick and the components needed to enable interactive features out of the box. Compatible sets are standalone builds that function without the Smart Brick but gain interactive behavior when paired with a Smart Brick from any All-in-One set.
The smallest set is Jigglypuff Concert, an 88-piece Compatible kit priced at £12.99 / €14.99 / $14.99. Several midrange Compatible sets include Charmander and Geodude’s Cavern Clash (198 pieces, £17.99 / €19.99 / $19.99), Berry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof (240 pieces, £17.99 / €19.99 / $19.99), Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly Battle (313 pieces, £29.99 / €34.99 / $34.99) and Trainer’s Buggy Adventure with Squirtle (320 pieces, £24.99 / €29.99 / $29.99).
Larger Compatible sets listed in the launch materials include Drone Search for Mythical Mew (429 pieces, £44.99 / €49.99 / $49.99), Mewtwo’s Lab Break (605 pieces, £59.99 / €69.99 / $69.99), Eevee and Lapras’ Treasure Hunt (623 pieces, £54.99 / €59.99 / $59.99) and Cubone and Gengar’s Spooky Showdown (782 pieces, £79.99 / €89.99 / $89.99). The Umbreon vs. Garchomp Championship Battle is the largest Compatible set at 831 pieces, priced at £69.99 / €79.99 / $79.99.
The two All-in-One sets that include the Smart Brick are Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle (751 pieces, £109.99 / €119.99 / $119.99) and Training House with Pikachu (400 pieces, £59.99 / €69.99 / $69.99). The company describes All-in-One sets as containing everything needed to access Smart Play interactions immediately, and Compatible sets as gaining interactive features when used with a Smart Brick from an All-in-One kit.
Compared with earlier LEGO Pokémon releases, the Smart Play line spreads across lower piece counts and lower price points, with options aimed at a wider range of entry prices and ages. The full range and pricing were disclosed in LEGO’s launch materials and will be available from Aug. 1, 2026.
