LEGO, Pokémon open Smart Play pre-orders; ships Aug. 1

The Pokémon Company and The LEGO Group opened pre-orders for a new series of Smart Play sets featuring multiple Pokémon. Each product is limited to one purchase per customer, and shipping is scheduled to start on Aug. 1.

The pre-orders list several Smart Play products showing a range of Pokémon. Earlier reveals have shown LEGO builds of Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu and Eevee. Promotional images indicate a mix of larger display-style builds and smaller collectible models.

The companies described the pre-order launch as a limited-purchase drop to discourage bulk buying. Pre-order pages require standard checkout steps; the firms have not detailed broader availability beyond the one-per-person restriction.

Separate supply-chain information and company disclosures indicate about 20 retail Pokémon sets are planned for 2026, to be released in three waves, with an initial wave in February and two additional waves during the summer. The Smart Play pre-orders are an earlier availability window ahead of that retail schedule.

A separate LEGO Poké Ball set, listed with 239 pieces and previously set to debut on Aug. 1 at a reported price of $260, has been postponed for production reasons. The postponement applies to that specific item and does not affect the Smart Play pre-orders, according to the information provided.
