Little Kitty, Big City’s free Birthday Update hits Game Pass
Double Dagger Studio released a free Birthday Update for Little Kitty, Big City on Xbox Game Pass, expanding Kitty’s apartment and adding crossovers, Photo Mode items and fixes.
Developer Double Dagger Studio released a free Birthday Update for Little Kitty, Big City that is available now on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. The update expands the game’s apartment area, adds crossover hats and plushes, new Photo Mode items and several technical fixes. The update is free for existing owners and for current Game Pass subscribers.
The update opens the previously limited apartment space into a fully explorable area. Players can interact with new objects and characters, including Turt, a turtle roommate who watches television. The apartment is decorated for an in-game Pet Party with balloons, cake and presents. The update also adds musical interactions and a hidden hat that can be found under wrapping paper.
Crossovers included in the update add new wearable and carryable items. A Jax character hat and a Jax skin that can be unlocked with the code VEGAN are available from The Amazing Digital Circus collaboration, and Pomni appears as an interactable plush. Bing Bong from the multiplayer game Peak is available as a carryable plush through collaboration with Aggro Crab Games and Landfall Games. A Little Gecko hat from the puzzle platformer Gecko Gods was added via Inresin and Super Rare.
Gameplay and companion systems received changes. Duckling companions now respond to Kitty’s moods and emotes, can join the player at nap spots for group rest animations, and appear as animated icons on load screens. The developer reported multiple bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements, including what it described as a permanent fix for re-entering the construction yard to reduce progression blockers and improve stability.
Little Kitty, Big City launched two years ago. The game follows a small black cat exploring an urban environment while completing errands, interacting with characters and finding hidden items. Double Dagger Studio described the Birthday Update in its announcement as a gift to the game’s community.
