Little Nightmares III DLC The Backstage hits Switch 2 June 12
Bandai Namco will release Little Nightmares III’s first DLC, The Backstage, for Switch 2 on June 12 as part of the paid Secrets of the Spiral Expansion Pass, adding new puzzles and a playable character, Dime.
Bandai Namco will release The Backstage, the first downloadable expansion for Little Nightmares III, on June 12, 2026 for the Switch 2. The DLC is part of the paid Secrets of the Spiral Expansion Pass and will not be offered as a standalone download.
The Backstage moves the game into a darker section of the Carnevale and adds new puzzles, hazards and a playable character named Dime. The company described Dime as a child who wears a torch hat that helps navigate the area beneath the Carnevale curtains.
Bandai Namco wrote: “In this adventure, Low will meet Dime, a new child who wears a torch hat, a very helpful tool for finding their way in what lies beneath the curtains of The Carnevale. The two children will have to face new threats and use their light to find a way to save Alone from the hands of the Puppeteer.”
New puzzles and hazards are built around light and shadow, with the torch hat serving as both a navigation aid and a gameplay mechanic to confront threats.
The Backstage is the first chapter included in the Secrets of the Spiral Expansion Pass; the publisher confirmed a second chapter will be released later. Owners of Little Nightmares III who purchase the pass will receive The Backstage on launch day for the Switch 2. No separate pricing or platform rollouts were announced.
The new content continues the game’s focus on child characters navigating grotesque environments and advances a rescue plot involving Alone and an antagonist called the Puppeteer.
