Marvel Tokon Enters Final Development Ahead of Aug. 8

Arc System Works says Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is in final stages after EVO Japan; the PS5 and PC fighter is due Aug. 8, with updated tournament builds circulating worldwide.

Arc System Works confirmed at EVO Japan that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has entered the final stages of development. The fighting game is scheduled to release on August 8 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Sony and Arc System Works have been distributing updated tournament builds at events around the world to gather feedback and show new content. A version that includes Black Panther and a Wakanda stage will be playable at Combo Breaker in Chicago later this month.

Fourteen characters have been revealed so far, with six roster slots still unrevealed. The announced Fighting Avengers lineup includes Captain America, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Shuri’s Black Panther.

A trailer ending contains a teaser many fans interpret as hinting at Carnage, who would likely appear alongside Doctor Doom on a villains squad if confirmed. The developer has been adjusting balance and polish based on competitive play.

With roughly three months until release, the team is running final tests and balance passes. Remaining character reveals and any final adjustments will be announced at select events or in upcoming trailers as the launch date approaches.
