Marvel’s Wolverine Ranks Among PS5 Best Sellers Prelaunch

Marvel’s Wolverine has climbed the PlayStation Store sales charts ahead of its September release, ranking fourth in the United States and inside the top 10 in the United Kingdom and Spain. The title sits lower in France and Germany. Because the game is not yet available, these positions reflect pre-orders and purchase intent rather than post-release sales.

The rise followed a recent State of Play presentation that increased visibility for the Insomniac Games-developed action-adventure. Sony Interactive Entertainment is handling the PlayStation 5 release. Marketing activity before launch has included gameplay footage and other promotional material aimed at driving pre-orders.

On the US PlayStation Store overall sales list, Wolverine sits behind NBA 2K26, Fortnite and 007 First Light. NBA 2K26 is leading amid the NBA Finals, and Fortnite moved up after launching a new season. The James Bond title 007 First Light has sold more than three million copies to date.

PlayStation Store filters for sales and pre-order volume show the character-driven title gaining traction ahead of release. Analysts note that strong pre-order numbers indicate consumer interest, while critical reviews and player feedback after launch will determine broader reception.

Insomniac’s earlier comic-book-based games have contributed to awareness among PlayStation players. Post-launch sales figures and critical response will determine how many pre-orders convert into completed sales and how long Wolverine remains on regional charts.
