Marvel’s Wolverine Tops PS Store Pre-Orders; Deluxe Leads

Marvel’s Wolverine became the top pre-order on the PlayStation Store in the United States and the United Kingdom less than 24 hours after pre-orders opened. The title overtook Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and led digital pre-order charts in Spain and other territories.

The Deluxe Edition, priced at $79.99 on the PlayStation Store, is the most-purchased pre-order option. That edition includes the full game, five exclusive suits and alternate claws.

Insomniac Games, based in Burbank, confirmed the game is a single-player, linear experience rather than an open-world title. The studio described the campaign as “globe-hopping” and a “rollercoaster ride.” A recently released full-length gameplay demonstration showed set-piece combat and scripted sequences, including scenes of Wolverine fighting groups of enemies and pursuing vehicles from a motorcycle.

Retailer and storefront ranking data show the title ahead of long-running franchises within 24 hours of pre-orders opening. Digital pre-order charts often reflect early purchasing choices for premium bundles; analysts and storefront trackers use pre-order placement as an indicator of launch-week momentum. Insomniac, known for PlayStation-exclusive Spider-Man titles, promoted Wolverine as a single-player action game focused on Logan. Early promotional materials emphasized cinematic combat and designed encounters. The game’s early pre-order performance corresponds with purchases of the Deluxe Edition.
