Media Molecule to shut Tearaway.me online service Aug. 13, 2026

Media Molecule will take Tearaway.me offline on Aug. 13, 2026, ending online features for Tearaway (PS Vita) and Tearaway Unfolded (PS4); offline play and trophies remain available.

Media Molecule announced on its website that Tearaway.me will be taken offline on Aug. 13, 2026. The studio said the shutdown will end online features tied to Tearaway (PS Vita) and Tearaway Unfolded (PS4).

The closure will remove access to online profiles, photo uploads and other community features hosted on Tearaway.me. Core single-player modes and trophy progression in both games will continue to work after the site goes offline.

Tearaway.me served as the companion hub for creating profiles, sharing photos and unlocking papercraft templates. Media Molecule published the notice about one month before the planned shutdown; the post was later highlighted by a community discussion.

The studio noted that papercraft templates will remain available via its main website. Players who want to keep images or uploads stored on Tearaway.me should download them before Aug. 13, 2026, because those files will no longer be accessible after that date.

Media Molecule listed specific points in Tearaway and Tearaway Unfolded where players may encounter error messages once the service is offline. The studio emphasized that those messages will not affect the base single-player experience: both titles will still run and trophies can still be earned.

Tearaway launched on PlayStation Vita in 2013 and was reworked as Tearaway Unfolded for PlayStation 4 in 2015. The scheduled closure ends more than a decade of online hosting for the series.
