Mina the Hollower, developed by Yacht Club Games, has an aggregate Metacritic score of 93 based on 32 critic reviews, making it the highest-rated game of 2026 on the site. The score is higher than an early 2026 release that holds a 91 and other titles that hold 89.

Most of the early reviews cover the PC and Nintendo Switch 2 versions; PlayStation 5 review codes arrived later. The PS5 version is scheduled to release on May 29, 2026, with a $20 price for that edition.

The Metacritic tally at the time of reporting included three reviews that awarded 10/10, two that gave 9/10 and one that gave 8.75/10. Additional reviews are expected to be added as more critics publish platform-specific coverage, including for the PS5 version.

Reviews highlighted specific elements of the game. Design, combat, exploration and presentation were repeatedly mentioned. Several reviews also noted accessibility options, sprite artwork, sound design and the amount of content as points of praise.
