Mina the Hollower Tops Metacritic’s Best Games of 2026

Yacht Club Games’ Mina the Hollower leads Metacritic’s best games of 2026 with a 92/100 PC critic score, ahead of Forza Horizon 6 (91) and Pokémon Pokopia and Resident Evil Requiem (89).

Yacht Club Games’ Mina the Hollower sits at the top of Metacritic’s best games of 2026 list for PC, holding a 92/100 critic average at the time of this report. The game also carries a 93/100 average on OpenCritic.

Reviews highlight the game’s pixel-art presentation and action-adventure gameplay. Metacritic’s PC critic average briefly reached 93/100 before settling at 92/100; Forza Horizon 6 holds a 91/100 score, while Pokémon Pokopia and Resident Evil Requiem are tied at 89/100.

Early sales data for the PC edition show roughly 55,000 copies sold on Steam worldwide. Console sales figures have not yet been reported by the studio.

Yacht Club founder Sean Velasco previously set internal targets for Mina the Hollower, calling 500,000 copies a “golden” outcome, 200,000 “really, really great,” and 100,000 a result that “might not be so good.” He later raised the target and said, “If we don’t sell a million copies, I’m going to be disappointed.”

The studio plans a post-launch period focused on marketing, bug fixes and patches to support the title and reach additional players. Yacht Club posted, “We’re ecstatic to see such an enthusiastic response to Mina the Hollower.” The company has signaled continued updates and promotion after launch week.

By comparison, Shovel Knight sold about 75,000 copies across Steam, Wii U and 3DS in its first week; Mina’s current Steam numbers reflect early single-platform sales.

Mina the Hollower’s placement at the top of the Metacritic list places the title above several major 2026 releases on that critic ranking, marking its position among the year’s highest-rated games.
