Minecraft Dungeons 2 arrives Sept. 29, 2026 on Game Pass
Minecraft Dungeons 2 launches Sept. 29, 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 at $29.99 and will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Xbox and Mojang announced that Minecraft Dungeons 2 will launch on Sept. 29, 2026 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Standalone copies will cost $29.99, and the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from day one.
Revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Mojang described the sequel as an action-RPG adventure that continues the cooperative dungeon-crawling format of the first game. The studio confirmed split-screen and online co-op play, new locations and a higher level of challenge compared with the original.
Mojang framed the story with the line “A hero’s work is never done!” and wrote that players will “return to the world of Minecraft Dungeons in an all‑new action RPG adventure, brimming with high‑stakes encounters, thrilling challenges, and never‑before‑seen locations” as they confront a growing new threat.
The announcement did not include details on campaign length, post-launch content, cross-play support, preorder windows or special editions.
The sequel follows Minecraft Dungeons, which launched as a cooperative action-RPG spin-off of Minecraft. Mojang stated the new entry expands encounters and environments for solo players and teams.
