Minecraft Dungeons II debuts on PS5 PlayStation Store

Minecraft Dungeons II is available to download today from the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5; Standard edition is $29.99, Deluxe edition $49.99.

Mojang’s Minecraft Dungeons II, the sequel to the 2020 dungeon-crawler, is available to download today on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5. The Standard Edition is priced at $29.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $49.99. The game is rated E10+ and holds an average user rating of 4.69 based on 304 reviews.

The sequel continues the story of the first game, placing players against a new threat linked to the Deep Dark and Ancient Cities. Progression moves away from the original’s mission-based structure toward a journey across a larger overworld with quests and persistent objectives.

A new area called the Sift is accessible through rifts scattered across the Overworld. Mojang describes the Sift as an uncharted dimension with new environments and enemies to expand exploration and encounters.

Combat and progression systems have been changed. Players can equip new gear and customize loadouts. Active combat slots have been increased from six to twelve. The enchanting system now uses Enchantment Books that add effects to a personal library rather than modifying items directly. A jump ability has been added to movement options.

The game supports up to four-player co-op in local, online, and mixed sessions. Mixed play lets multiple players on the same console or PC join others online. Online multiplayer on PlayStation 5 requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription.

The Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with two downloadable content packs and additional cosmetic items. Originally released on Xbox platforms, Minecraft Dungeons II is now available on Sony’s PlayStation Store. Mojang’s official blog provides further details on features and technical requirements.
