Minecraft coming to Nintendo Switch 2 with Vibrant Visuals

Minecraft will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year as a native release. The Switch 2 edition features a Vibrant Visuals graphics upgrade that improves lighting and visual detail. The release bundles a Super Mario Mash-Up Pack that includes a custom Mario-themed world, 15 music tracks and 40 player skins. Players can transfer save files and existing creations from the current Nintendo Switch version to the Switch 2 edition.

Nintendo confirmed the Switch 2 build will support local and online multiplayer with cross-device play. No specific launch date beyond “later this year” was provided. Nintendo has not announced pricing or whether current Switch owners will receive an upgrade discount.

The announcement did not list technical specifications or performance targets. The Vibrant Visuals label refers to lighting and visual polish designed for the new console. The Mario pack adds themed environment and cosmetic content and does not change core gameplay mechanics.
